Around the World in 580 Days – Part 1

IMG_0091

Hello!

Every now and then (especially when it’s cold and dark outside) I find myself looking at the photos from the year and a half long trip I did with three friends back in 2007-2009. We spent around five months travelling in Russia, China and South East Asia, a year working and travelling in Australia and another couple of months or so travelling in Fiji, New Zealand, Mexico, New York and last but not least London. (Who knew three of us would find ourselves living in London two years later?!)

My Dream Home

I’ve become slightly hooked on all these TV programs where people build their own houses, redecorate their houses, try to find houses to buy, renovate their houses and so on – you get the idea. There’s so many of these programs here in the UK! I’ve even started playing with the thought of one day building my own home (who would’ve thought?) , just so I can make it look exactly like I want. A girl can always dream 🙂

A Foodie’s Heaven

I think my birthday dinner was so exquisite that it deserves a blog post of its own. We had around 8 courses all-together, that’s pretty much 4 more courses than I’ve ever had at one sitting. And we had amazing wines with every course too (in hindsight I don’t understand how I was able to drink goon when living in Australia!). The award winning hotel restaurant at Monachyle Mhor is renown among foodies, and many travel to the middle of nowhere in the Scottish Highlands just to eat at the restaurant.

Autumn in Scotland

First of all I have some good news; my little nephew finally arrived last Saturday, can’t wait to meet him! Have to wait a couple of months though, until we go to Finland again 🙁 We decided to celebrate Christmas here (partly because the flights were so expensive) and New Year in Finland, so this will be my first British Christmas 🙂 If anyone knows of any New Year parties in Porvoo or Helsinki do let me know!
