Pussy Bow Dress by Salme Sewing Patterns

Hi all!

It’s Saturday night and the Champion’s league final is on in this house, so thought I’d do some blogging instead! We’ve moved the last of our stuff to the flat today, but as we don’t have a TV or internet  we’re spending one more night at Matthew’s parent’s place so Matthew can watch football…Men!

Today’s been the warmest day of the year so far, which gives me hope of summer and of soon being able to ditch my tights and coat – and wear

Happy 1st Birthday to My Blog!

On May 10th 2013 I published my first blog post, with the intention of just seeing how it goes and if I like it enough to keep blogging. A year and 74 blog posts later I still enjoy it, so hopefully there will be a 2nd birthday! However, I decided from the start not to put any pressure on myself and only blog because I enjoy it. I wouldn’t want it to start feeling like a job – I do enough blogging at work already!

Chocolate Orange Shots

As everyone who knows me know, I have a serious sweet tooth (although not as bad as when I was younger). This means that I always have a very big craving for something sweet after my meals, especially dinner. It doesn’t have to be anything big, something like a piece of dark chocolate or peanut butter toast will suffice – I just need something. Sometimes we (Matthew) might go across the street to buy a chocolate bar, which is obviously not what you want to (or should) have every night…So we decided to try making our own mini desserts, and came across this recipe by michelin chef Nick Nairn.

Looks like things have taken a new turn and we’ve found a flat – an unfurnished place in the same area where the burst shit pipe flat is (Stockbridge). It was actually Matthew’s sister who works for an estate agent that found this gem for us, so thanks! It’s a newly painted, spacious flat that is like a blank canvas that we can put our own stamp on – and the location can’t get much better either! No more sleeping in other people’s beds or sitting in other people’s sofas – really looking forward to finally decorating my (I mean our) apartment! . 🙂

It’s been a year since we moved to Edinburgh, and funnily enough we’re finding ourselves right where we started: staying with Matthew’s parents (thanks for having us again!). We were supposed to move in to our new flat in the Colonies in Stockbridge today, but due to an unexpected call from the letting agency that won’t be the case…
