This place brings back a lot of memories. Me and my twin brother have spent many days and nights here with my grandmother when we were kids. We used to go out on our little rubber boat and swim even though there was lots of seaweed in the water that I didn’t like. I also remember picking blueberries in the surrounding forests. There was no tap water or toilet inside but we didn’t mind. It was a bit like an adventure staying there.
Matthew’s taken Lana to see Nana and Pop, so I’m enjoying some me-time listening to Sigur Ros and blogging in my Moomin jammies – not a bad way to spend a Sunday! I even went for a run after fighting the urge to just go down to the shop and get some sweets instead – so glad I didn’t because I’ve got so much more energy now and I’ve come up with a least 4 new blog post ideas!
There’s a new shop in town I want to tell you about – and not only because it’s Matthew’s sister’s boyfriend’s new venture, but because I like everything about it. To be honest I’m not really into fast food and takeaways, but the toasties or melts by Meltmongers is just up my street!
Christmas and New Year are, once again, done and dusted. As always after the holidays I’m feeling a bit gloomy and drained, and don’t really want to get back to reality quite yet…Lana’s been ill ever since we got back to the Burgh on Sunday, plus it’s been raining pretty much nonstop – two things that have definitely added to the gloominess!
