Have you tried overnight oats already? I finally got around to preparing a jar last night and couldn’t wait to try it this morning. I was worried it was going to be too slimy for my taste, and even if there was a bit of sliminess (really selling this to you haha) it didn’t really bother me.
I’ve said it so many times, but I just can’t believe how quick Lana’s first year has gone! She’s turned into this wee person who’s running around on her own wee legs. Lana had a blast on her big day but most likely won’t recall a single thing – luckily we can look at the photos later on in life and she can pretend she remembers 🙂
If you read my last post you might remember how I was bragging about getting quite good at travelling with a baby/toddler. Well I think I have to eat my words now as we almost didn’t make the flight. Not because we were late, but because I had forgotten to book a flight for Lana!
Tomorrow Lana and I are flying to Finland for the 5th time within a year, this time to attend my grandmother’s funeral unfortunately. It’s safe to say that flying with a baby/toddler has almost become a routine and I’m getting pretty good at it! Packing gets easier each time as does the whole logistics of the journey. What I’m dreading though is the flight itself and how I’ll be able to entertain a toddler who just wants to walk around…
My grandmother passed away recently. It wasn’t unexpected as she was 102 years old when she died. I don’t think anyone was surprised by her respectable age either as she was the most stubborn woman I’ve ever known – she just wouldn’t give in.
After watching a documentary called “Cowspiracy” (watch it and it might change your life too!) a few months ago I’ve been trying to eat less dairy and cook more vegan food. For a vegetarian who doesn’t really like fish and who’s been avoiding eggs due to Lana’s allergy, veganism isn’t really that huge a leap from where I was before.
A year has gone by since our little frog was born and changed our lives forever. Every day since then has been amazing and it just keeps getting better. There are no words really to explain how much I love my little girl and how special she is to me.
I proudly present to you Lana’s first birthday cake – that I made myself! Must say I’m very pleased with it, especially since it was my first attempt at a fondant cake. We celebrated Lana’s first birthday yesterday, and the guests said it tasted nice too – although extremely sweet.
