One of the perks of writing a blog is getting invited to different events, such as the Spring Launch Event at Godiva Boutique in the Grassmarket last week. Godiva is full of colourful dresses, carefully sourced vintage and interesting jewellery – a must if you’re into colours and quirky prints!
It’s not everyday you open a national newspaper and see your own face in it – but we were really chuffed to have The Ally Bally Bee Project feature in yesterday’s Sunday Post! My late grandmother who had Alzheimer’s is also featured, holding me and my twin brother when we were little (not my big brother as the image caption says). I also realised afterwards that I was actually wearing my grandmother’s pastel-coloured shirt that I’ve worn for years and will wear for many more to come.
It hit me today that I’m raising a little woman – or judging by these photos I snapped secretly today (yup, she was so into her performance that she didn’t even notice me) we might have a little princess on our hands. I mean seriously, Lana just turned two and she’s already into Frozen and trying to sing along to ‘Let it go’! (I’m blaming aunty JoJo who bought her an Elsa dress for her birthday haha.) But I have to say it is really damn cute when a 2 year old is copying Elsa in the Let it Go music video – my heart almost melted. So here you go, a silent performance by princess Lana!
I wrote a post about feeling grateful a while back, and thought it was time to write down a few things that have made me happy again. To be fair, there are way more than only ten things that have made me smile in the past week or so, but here is a selection of things that come to mind!
I wasn’t until just before Christmas I visited Century General Store & Cafe for the first time – for a Christmas wreath making class by Pyrus Botanicals. I instantly thought it was a cute place with Scandi-vibes that deserved a visit during daytime too, and couple of weekends ago we finally popped in for some lunch and a little bit of shopping.
