Last day of the year. Always makes me feel I should be reflecting over the past year. 2017 has had its highs and lows, the main high obviously being welcoming Maya into the world and the main low being not feeling great at the beginning of the pregnancy. But overall it’s been another good year and we’ve all been healthy and happy, which is the main thing!
Once again Christmas came and went so, so quickly. This Christmas was the first in 30 something years where my dad didn’t have to cook – instead we celebrated in my twin brother’s new house that he built with his own bare hands. This Christmas was also the first in many, many years where Santa decided to come visit – and seeing the excitement (or fear) of the little ones brought back memories from when I was a kid myself.
Just want to quickly wish everybody a MERRY CHRISTMAS 2017!! I hope you get to celebrate it with your loved ones and eat good food! This is Maya’s first Christmas and I was adamant we take some family Christmas photos – but little Lana the Dictator wasn’t cooperating and Maya was asleep, so it is what it is. At least we’re all in the photo haha!
I don’t know what it is with Lana, but she’s been a real handful lately and I can’t wait for Matthew to get here tonight to share the load – even though I have my parents here to help and I shouldn’t really need it! Today’s been pretty bad; she keeps following me around not wanting to do anything I suggest and saying “NO!” even more than usual…She’s very bossy too and I constantly get ordered to “COME HERE!”. I need a break!
Today started out pretty well having slept 6 hours in a row – just what I needed after a few crappy nights! We arrived on Saturday on a late flight at 22.35 (everything went surprisingly smoothly) and the time difference of 2 hours has resulted in a tired and cranky Lana who’s been going to bed around 11pm ever since. Maya has also been a bit gassy and restless but has been better today thank god.
Last Saturday we were supposed to visit Edinburgh Castle for free for St Andrew’s Day, but as we were already at the gate it turned out my booking had never gone through and there were no tickets…So instead we decided to finally visit Camera Obscura – a building consisting of five floors of optical illusions.
Can’t believe it’s been a year since my one day as a model for Dunmore Scotland and I haven’t managed to get a blog post up…Dunmore Scotland is a small bag company founded by the lovely Diane who I met through my previous job at a web agency, and when she asked me if I would like to model some of her bags I obviously said yes!
