A Day At Edinburgh Zoo

We got offered free tickets to Edinburgh Zoo by Matthew’s workmate yesterday, which we obviously couldn’t say no thank you to – so we tucked Lana in her sling and spent a few hours outdoors exploring the zoo.

Edinburgh Zoo is known for its pandas, but unfortunately we weren’t able to see them yesterday 🙁 But I think the rhinos we did get to admire very close up were even more impressive than the pandas – I got so excited when I saw them that I took about a hundred photos of them…

One of the first animals we saw was this rhea who came very close to say hi. Don’t know why, but big birds like that creep me out…

Some monkey action. I know that zoos do a lot of good work too, but seeing wild animals in cages always makes me sad – hence I usually avoid zoos.

A bunch of shy zebras.

One of the cutest little monkeys I’ve ever seen – it looks bigger in the photo but it’s actually the size of a tennis ball!

The rhinos alone were worth visiting the zoo for – can’t remember ever having seen one in real life. They’re huge!

These giants weigh between 1,5 to 2,5 tonnes! Some friendly head butting going on here.

We just had to get a felfie with the rhinos – I guess a rhino’s arse is better than nothing.

A bit later we also managed to get the rest of the rhino in the photo 🙂

And look at this one – he’s definitely posing for me (his pose is way better than mine…)

Usually there is a penguin parade every day, but not yesterday for some reason.

Lana slept through her first visit to the zoo – instead she kept us awake until 3am…

Just look how big she looks! That’s a little girl already – 7 weeks tomorrow :O

Tomorrow we’re also finally flying to Finland so Lana can meet her grandparents, uncles and aunties, cousins and my friends with kids! She told me she’s really looking forward to it 🙂

I probably won’t be blogging for the next couple of weeks, but after that I have a feeling that there will be a few photos from the trip…Just a few. Bye for now!
