Before Snow

I took my camera with me on our walk the other day, thinking I’d probably not use it anyway as nature is pretty bleak and dead at the moment – but I ended up taking quite a few photos! This is definitely not my favourite time of year, but I guess there is beauty in all this greyness too. Rugged beauty. I still hope there will be snow very soon – and I think that’s what mother nature is waiting for too.

We’re definitely not in the city anymore – on the first night here I heard loud barking outside my window, so went up on the balcony upstairs to see what was going on. Suddenly I saw a massive fox running across the yard and then back again to continue barking. (Didn’t know they sounded like dogs!) I tried to scare it away and it eventually deserted whatever was upsetting it. Two hours later it was back in the same spot, but luckily gave up pretty quickly!

Can you see any beauty in these photos? Or are you already waiting for next summer? 🙂

Nog för att man alltid väntar på sol och sommar, men visst är naturen på något sätt vacker nu! Håller helt med! Och fina bilder!

We have similar bleakness waiting for snow here in Vermont. But it’s so true that when you start to look it’s just beautiful. Nothing so artful as an old barn or a woodpile!
