Looks like things have taken a new turn and we’ve found a flat – an unfurnished place in the same area where the burst shit pipe flat is (Stockbridge). It was actually Matthew’s sister who works for an estate agent that found this gem for us, so thanks! It’s a newly painted, spacious flat that is like a blank canvas that we can put our own stamp on – and the location can’t get much better either! No more sleeping in other people’s beds or sitting in other people’s sofas – really looking forward to finally decorating my (I mean our) apartment! . 🙂
New flats are nice, but moving is not. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve moved in my twenties, but what I know is that I hate it more and more every time. This time was even more exhausting as apparently we’ve become hoarders during the past year and have managed to hide a ton of stuff in our flat on Dalkeith Road. I think the flat was so big with so much storage space that it was easy to lose track of the amount of stuff we actually possess. But when you have to move it all the ugly truth comes out…
Luckily Matthew’s dad has been kind enough to help us move all our shite (that is now cluttering their house)…If everything goes as planned we’ll be able to move in in a couple of weeks and take our shite with us – after having done a clear out! And maybe bought a bed and some other furniture (if we can agree on what to get…)
We were packing and cleaning on Thursday night, late into Friday night and Saturday afternoon – we really scrubbed that place!
Matthew in his chav outfit saying his goodbyes to the flat.
In hindsight there might’ve been fewer car loads if we would’ve packed properly instead of just grabbing clothes from the closet haha.
I really hope I won’t have to move anytime soon again, it’s exhausting.

PS. I managed to break a mirror on the last day, and although I’m not superstitious I feel a bit uneasy about it… :/
