It’s exciting times at the moment. As I mentioned in my last blog post, we’re looking for a place to buy – and I think we’ve found one we want to make an offer on! It’s a bit inconvenient that we’re going to Mallorca for a week on Tuesday morning though, but I’m sure we can work around that somehow.
It’s taken me so long to blog about our visit to the Secret Herb Garden that Lana’s visibly grown since! The Secret Herb Garden is a place where you can buy and learn about herbs, have a coffee and a piece of home made cake and just relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside.
In a recent blog post I told you about the Rock House InstaMeet that I helped organise a few weeks ago. Well the meet-up didn’t finish at the house, but we were treated to a photo walking tour by a local company called Iconic Tours. I am the first one to admit that there’s so much I don’t know about Edinburgh (and photography!), so I was really looking forward to it!
The plan this morning was to take Lana to the Science Museum in Glasgow, but after having checked the weather we decided there were way too many raindrops in the forecast. Instead we headed out to explore the historical Canongate area here in Edinburgh. I’m really enjoying (re)discovering the city, partly inspired by my job where I have to be clued in on what’s going on in Edinburgh! Here are some of the photos I took with my phone since I forgot to bring the damn camera…
I’m ashamed to say I’ve never visited Greyfriars Kirkyard during the 3 years I’ve lived in Edinburgh. Had I known what an intriguingly beautiful place it is I would’ve taken my camera and headed there ages ago. It took a visit from my parents to finally venture inside the gates and even inside the Kirk. Funnily enough my work took me there again the following day!
This stunning cathedral on the Royal Mile is dedicated to Saint Giles, the patron saint of Edinburgh, and is the principal place of worship of the Church of Scotland in Edinburgh. I’ve walked past it countless times but never stepped inside, so when my parents came to visit I decided this is the time to do it!
