A Weekend of Design, Rain & Flat Shopping

Posted on

It’s exciting times at the moment. As I mentioned in my last blog post, we’re looking for a place to buy – and I think we’ve found one we want to make an offer on! It’s a bit inconvenient that we’re going to Mallorca for a week on Tuesday morning though, but I’m sure we can work around that somehow.

A Weekend of Scottish Sun

We’ve had another great weekend with sunshine and this time also burnt faces and shoulders. And an attempt to do a clear-out that got interrupted by the nice weather…Which I don’t mind in the slightest! This is what we got up to:

Saturday Stroll Through The Canongate

The plan this morning was to take Lana to the Science Museum in Glasgow, but after having checked the weather we decided there were way too many raindrops in the forecast. Instead we headed out to explore the historical Canongate area here in Edinburgh. I’m really enjoying (re)discovering the city, partly inspired by my job where I have to be clued in on what’s going on in Edinburgh! Here are some of the photos I took with my phone since I forgot to bring the damn camera…

Rock House InstaMeet

I’ve mentioned that I had a fun work event I had to attend when my parents were visiting, and I’ve finally managed to put together a blog post about it – with quite a few photos so you’ve been warned…Couldn’t help myself as the venue, Rock House in the photo above, is just too stunning!

A Long Overdue Visit To Greyfriars Kirkyard

Posted on

I’m ashamed to say I’ve never visited Greyfriars Kirkyard during the 3 years I’ve lived in Edinburgh. Had I known what an intriguingly beautiful place it is I would’ve taken my camera and headed there ages ago. It took a visit from my parents to finally venture inside the gates and even inside the Kirk. Funnily enough my work took me there again the following day!

Inside St Giles’ Cathedral

This stunning cathedral on the Royal Mile is dedicated to Saint Giles, the patron saint of Edinburgh, and is the principal place of worship of the Church of Scotland in Edinburgh. I’ve walked past it countless times but never stepped inside, so when my parents came to visit I decided this is the time to do it!

A Perfect Sunday

I’ve had such a great day today that I just had to share it here on the blog as well! It’s actually Finnish Mother’s Day today, which I had totally forgotten about and was only reminded about by Facebook when I woke up this morning haha. Sorry mum for not sending a card!
