Life Story – One of My Favourite Edinburgh Shops

lifestory edinburgh shop

I’ve been meaning to do a blog post about this lovely shop at the bottom of Broughton Street for ages – but it actually makes more sense to do it now, in the midst of my ‘decorating our new home’-frenzy! Life Story is a lifestyle shop that sells lots of cool stuff you NEED for your home by several Scandinavian and Scandi-inspired designers. There is no end to the Scandi-boom!

Busy Times

There’s been a lot going on lately with moving house, travelling, arguing about stupid things, painting and a bunch of other stuff I won’t talk about here – so I haven’t had the time or energy to update the blog as much. Which is a shame as I feel there’s so much I’d like to share here! Anyway, I thought painting the whole flat would be a fairly quick thing to do, and I guess it could’ve been without Lana…But hey, we’ll get things done eventually! Yesterday I finally unpacked the last boxes, so that felt good.

Finland Visitors

Last week we welcomed some friends from Finland who came to stay with us for 3 nights – and it was so nice to be able to offer them a room to stay in now that we’ve moved to a bigger place! Lana also really enjoyed having her 11-month old friend here and kept asking for “baby” that she called him for days after they left haha.

An Epic Date Night

Last Saturday was a great day. It was the day that Matthew’s parents had promised to take Lana overnight for the first time so we could go on a date night without a curfew – which we definitely took advantage of!…

Restoration Yard & the Best Shop Ever

Posted on

Last Saturday Matthew’s sister picked us up in the morning and we headed to the 1000-acre big Dalkeith Country Park for a nice day out in the countryside. I was also looking forward to exploring the newly opened Restoration Yard – a new retail, food, drink and wellbeing space in the park’s old stableyard. I had heard good things about the shop but was still amazed by how nice it was (and the prices weren’t too bad either). It was so nice that I took around a million photos!

My New Cluse Watch

cluse watch la boheme

For the past 20 years or so I’ve had no interest in wearing a watch – I just don’t like how they stick to my skin when I get a bit hot and that claustrophobic feeling of wearing something around my wrist. So I surprised myself when I suddenly found myself craving not only one, but two watches!

A Weekend of Design, Rain & Flat Shopping

It’s exciting times at the moment. As I mentioned in my last blog post, we’re looking for a place to buy – and I think we’ve found one we want to make an offer on! It’s a bit inconvenient that we’re going to Mallorca for a week on Tuesday morning though, but I’m sure we can work around that somehow.

A Day In Our Life

I was reading a “my day” blog post by a Finnish mummy blogger, and decided that I want to do one as well – don’t know about you but I’m always curious about what a normal weekday looks like for other people with children. I’ve done a photo an hour post in the past, but that was on a Sunday when we usually get out and do more – so this time I want to make sure it’s just a normal weekday. Here’s what last Wednesday looked like:
