When Lana was 4 weeks old I took some photos of her and wrote this blog post – so now that Maya is 4 weeks old too I naturally want to do the same, so that I can compare! It was funny reading the blog post as I could pretty much just copy and paste most of it – that’s how similar my girls have been in their 4 first weeks.
Ok I need to write this down before I forget! My second labour was an even better experience than my first one – mainly because the second round was a lot shorter and there was less pain involved because of that! As I mentioned in my previous post labour only lasted 4 hours this time – but there is more to the story than that…
Lana’s little sister, Maya Elodie, finally arrived on the first of November – four days after her due date. She was even bigger than her big sister was at 4180 grams and 55 cm (!) I’ve done a birth story blog you can read here, so won’t go into detail about how the birth was – but I can say that it was a quick affair that lasted only 4 hours from the first contraction to Maya’s birth. It was a water birth, which was a great experience and something I warmly recommend!
I guess it’s a good idea to write something about my third trimester now before the baby arrives…I’ll be 39 weeks on Saturday, and although labour started on the due date with Lana you never know what’s going to happen this time. I’m really fed up though so wouldn’t mind if I went into labour tomorrow – as long as the baby is fine of course!
Today was my last day at work and on Saturday I’ll be 38 weeks pregnant, crazy stuff. Saturday will also be our first wedding anniversary – can’t believe we’ve been married for a year already! On the 27th is my birthday and on the 28th the baby is due to arrive – if she’s as punctual as Lana was. Since Matthew just started a new job he’s not entitled to paternity leave, but has booked in two weeks of unpaid leave starting on the 30th of October. So to not mess that up the baby really needs to arrive on time…
It’s been a bit quiet here on the blog lately, which is mainly due to the third trimester tiredness setting in…The tiredness or fatigue correlates a lot with how I sleep during the night though, so as long as I have a good night’s sleep I’m not too bad! I do like to lie down for an “awake nap” (can’t really sleep with Lana around) once a day, but generally I guess I feel quite ok at 35 weeks.
Last Saturday I entered my 28th week of pregnancy and my third trimester – which means my second trimester is done and dusted. Three more months to go before total chaos arrives! The first few weeks of my second trimester I was still lacking in energy and feeling a bit sick, but the rest of it has been pretty uneventful.
