One of the best things about autumn is getting all excited about knitting again and planning all my projects. Recently a few people have asked me where I get my knitting patterns from, so I thought it could be a good idea to write down some tips in a blog post. I also realised that I haven’t shown you guys the three jumpers I have successfully finished – so I had to force Matthew to take some photos of me, which he was very happy about.
I don’t know if it’s the spring that has inspired me to get my sewing machine out and come up with all sorts of little DIY projects, but I’m definitely enjoying creating things with my own little hands at the moment. I saw this easy DIY project on a colourful Finnish blog and immediately decided to try it out and share it with you, in English. Will try and keep it short and sweet, so here we go.
The dress I made for myself recently was a fail – so I was very happy when Lana’s dress turned out great! I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty damn proud to have made this pinafore dress with my own hands. There’s something really nice about being able to say to Lana that mamma made her dress herself! To show her that not everything has to be bought in a shop. Lana told the Sainsbury’s delivery guy that her mum made her a dress so I think she likes it haha.
You might have noticed that there seems to be bunting everywhere these days – especially in interior design. I think it’s such a fun and affordable way of sprucing up the nursery or any other room for that matter! I felt Lana’s room really needed some bunting and as I didn’t want to pay loads for something so simple I had a quick google and found the perfect tutorial video to show me how it’s done.
I really want to make sure there are some Finnish vibes in our home, which is the reason I came back with two bags instead of one when I was last visiting…I went through the cupboards in my old flat where my brother and his fiancee are now living, and found some long lost Finnish design friends that I just had to take back with me. Keep reading to see what the new additions in our home are!
It’s Saturday night and the Champion’s league final is on in this house, so thought I’d do some blogging instead! We’ve moved the last of our stuff to the flat today, but as we don’t have a TV or internet we’re spending one more night at Matthew’s parent’s place so Matthew can watch football…Men!
My sewing inspiration seems to come and go, and now it’s definitely coming. Here’s another easy little DIY project that I’ve kept myself busy with and thought I’d share with youse guys. As I have a new laptop I needed a laptop sleeve, but didn’t like the prices in the shops so decided to make one myself instead. (I’ve included the video I watched to learn how to make this at the end of this post.)
Happy Monday folks!
I just have to share my weekend project with the world, because I am so proud of myself 🙂 A friend of mine turned 30 yesterday, and since I wanted to give her something a little more special I decided to make her a dress – with no dressmaking experience…After hours of blood, sweat and tears (and a wee bit of help from my boyfriend’s mum) I present this to you:
