Hi folks! Greetings from a very unpredictable Edinburgh! The weather lately seems to change every two minutes: it goes from sunny to pouring rain to hail to strong winds in a matter of minutes – which makes it very difficult to decide whether a walk with Lana is a smart idea or not.
I finally booked mine and Lana’s flights to Finland for the beginning of July, so the countdown has begun 🙂 I only bought a one way ticket as I don’t want to decide now how long we’ll stay for. But I’m thinking at least 6 weeks, with Matthew visiting for a week or two in the middle. I’m really looking forward to spending a summer in Finland – a real summer when it’s warm enough to go to the beach and do summery things. So Finland, please make sure the summer this year will be as awesome as it was last year!
We’ve been daring the weather anyway, often to go meet Lana’s daddy for lunch. Pret is definitely my favourite place to get a quick, fresh sandwich or salad – I’m sure the place would be appreciated in Finland too!
Lana is learning new skills all the time: she’s been grabbing everything she sees now for a few weeks (including her own feet – although I’m not sure she knows they belong to her yet…) and a week ago she finally rolled over – so proud 🙂 Was thinking about posting a video of her doing it, but quickly came to the conclusion that it would probably be the most boring video for everyone else apart from myself and Matthew haha.
A skill she hasn’t learnt though is the skill to sleep through the night – or even longer than 4 hours…Resulting in a pretty tired mummy! Can’t believe it’s been almost 4 months of not sleeping longer than 2-3 hours at a time! But it’s amazing how quickly you can used to it thank god.
Yesterday we had lunch with our South African friends and finally introduced Lana to them – we really need to meet up more often!
The weather forecast promised 17 degrees Celsius yesterday so although it was a lot colder than that I was set on opening the ice cream season with a pink Magnum. Not bad!
In the evening we were invited for dinner at our lovely neighbours’ place. Green thai curry on the menu – very tasty!
They have a wee boy roughly the same age as Lana, which is great but means that any meal gets interrupted twice as much haha.
I’m not a huge fan of dogs, but Zelda the pug is just too cute 🙂
For dessert we had both triple choc brownies as well as salty liquorice – heaven! I’ve managed to convert the lady of the house into a salty liquorice addict haha.
This is from last weekend when we were watching the Eurovision with the same couple. Who knows, you might be looking at Lana’s future boyfriend 😀 (Damn you Sweden, you did it again. I personally didn’t like the song, it was a total rip-off of a David Guetta song as well. My favourite was the dramatic Latvian song!)
Matthew’s promised to help out a friend’s mother with a new website for her business, so need to tidy up a little bit. Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone!
