The Ally Bally Bee Project

It’s not everyday you open a national newspaper and see your own face in it – but we were really chuffed to have The Ally Bally Bee Project feature in yesterday’s Sunday Post! My late grandmother who had Alzheimer’s is also featured, holding me and my twin brother when we were little (not my big brother as the image caption says). I also realised afterwards that I was actually wearing my grandmother’s pastel-coloured shirt that I’ve worn for years and will wear for many more to come.

STV (Scottish Television) have also shared a story they wrote online, you can read it here. However, they somehow managed to twist the story into it being a picture book for Lana – which it’s not. It’s a personalised children’s book with text AND images for children around the age 4-8. The article also says I’m an accomplished linguist, which isn’t true (although I wish it was). Yes I speak four languages and have studied Spanish philology at Uni, but definitely not a linguist. We’re obviously still very happy to be featured, just don’t want people to get the wrong information!

Third Force News that covers stories about charities, social enterprises and volunteers in Scotland also wrote a piece about the project, which you can read here. It’s a nicely written article that properly mentions the Kickstarter Campaign that still has another 15 days to go!

I guess we have to start watching out for the Paparazzi now and start giving fans autographs when out and about 😉

PS. Lana was really tired and cranky when the photographer came to take photos on Friday night, so to get her to sit with us on the sofa we had to bribe her with chocolate – which is what she’s holding in her hand in the photo…
