My First Visitor

After 4 months in Edinburgh I finally get my first visitor, perfectly timed for the last weekend of the festival and last weekend of summer. It was so nice to have one of my friends visiting so I could show her how lovely Edinburgh is! Weather was quite nice too, warm enough for bare legs ๐Ÿ™‚

Btw, if you’re wondering why there are so many drinks in the photo it’s just because the ciders are too big for one pint and they’re not allowed to give you the glass bottle. Very practical.

These photos are all taken with phones, hence the poor quality…

We spent Saturday walking around in the centre taking touristy photos, a pic with the castle is obligatory if you come to Edinburgh.

Edinburgh is full of beautiful, windy steps like these. Walking around here means that you’re constantly walking up and down hills and steps.

We went up Calton Hill to get a better view of the city, just wish the sun could’ve been nice enough to show its face.

Another narrow alley in the old town.

On Saturday night we went to see two comedians, Joe Lycett and Glen Wool. Joe was a lot funnier than Glen. (Apparently Glen was ill though, and is usually funnier…) After that we went to a 3-birthday house party and later on to a couple of clubs. A very loooong day.

On Sunday (once we finally got up) I decided to take Hannele to the lovely Stockbridge area for a much needed Bloody Mary and a walk along Leith Water. Such a nice and sunny evening walk followed by dinner and another comedy show called Pajama Men. Definitely my favourite show so far! As Matthew’s former uni friend worked at the same venue we got to see a burlesque show after that for free. Matthew didn’t complain.

On Monday morning we somehow found the energy to climb up Arthur’s Seat for an even better view of the city. It was a lot warmer than we expected so there was a lot of sweating involved…HArthur

Thanks Hannele for a great weekend!! ๐Ÿ˜€

Guys, remember that we have a spare room and a big front room if you ever decide to visit! (Please come and visit)

Iโ€™m a Swedish-speaking Finn who left Finland for the lovely and thrilling London town in 2011, but after meeting an equally lovely and thrilling Scotsman I somehow now find myself in the beautiful city of Edinburgh. In February 2015 our gorgeous little girl arrived and made us a happy family of three. Follow my blog and get to know us!

I have been to Edinburgh a few years ago, and your photos brought back memories, those are exactly the places we went to around the castle and arthur’s seat!
