I’ve finally figured out how to make my green smoothie taste nice – without being too sweet either. Even Lana likes it! I try to make this recipe or variations of it several times per week and I like that you don’t need 20 different ingredients for it to taste good and be healthy! The intense green colour is just the spirulina doing its job.
INGREDIENTS (makes two glasses)
- 2 kiwis
- 1/2 avocado
- 1 heaped teaspoon of spirulina
- 2 big handfuls of kale
- 3 dl of orange juice
For a less sugary version you can always use e.g. unsweetened almond milk instead of orange juice.
The avocado makes the smoothie creamy and more pleasant to drink, so don’t leave it out! Smoothies is a great way of getting some green goodness into Lana – not sure if she actually likes the taste or if it’s just drinking through a straw that makes it exciting though 🙂
