Cows & Rams

Hi all!

Yet another week has gone by so quickly that it almost scares me…

Anyhoo, work is getting busier every day as the company keeps growing at a speed so fast that we’re running out of desks to sit at. We’ve gotten quite a few new clients on board lately which is a good thing, but can soon make us swamped with work unless we get more new people. Our client base is really varied, I do online marketing stuff for companies that sell shoes, energy chewing gum, cleaning services, garden rooms, storage space, IT services, jewellery, pest control services, promote wedding bands etc.

Happy Monday!…

Hope you’ve had a less zombie-esque day than I did. I thought I’d upload some photos from a couple of Saturdays ago and show you a little more of Edinburgh.

My First Visitor

Posted on

After 4 months in Edinburgh I finally get my first visitor, perfectly timed for the last weekend of the festival and last weekend of summer. It was so nice to have one of my friends visiting so I could show her how lovely Edinburgh is! Weather was quite nice too, warm enough for bare legs 🙂

Edinburgh Festival Fringe

The world’s biggest international arts festival came and went. A month of madness in August when the city’s population triples and public transport becomes annoyingly slow. We spent the first two weeks of August in Finland, so we only took part during the two last weekends. Which was just enough for me.

A Day In Tallinn

Tere!

While in Finland we decided to visit Tallinn for a day so Matthew would see something else than my lovely home country on his holiday. It’s only two hours away by ferry, and the tickets are quite cheap too, as are the prices in Tallinn. I can’t remember how many times I’ve visited the city, but I really like the old medieval town (that is also the main tourist trap.)

Forgotten Photos From 1970

Hi all,

When we were in Finland and visiting our summer house (that we call ‘the Villa’) Matthew found an old film spool lying on the floor. He got a little bit obsessed with it and decided to get it developed here in Edinburgh. We found out that they stopped making this 120 mm film 20 years ago. It had to have belonged to my grandfather who was into his photography. As he passed away in 1988 the film must’ve been at least 30 years old.

My twin brother got married to his lovely wife on August 3rd in Porvoo cathedral, Finland. It was a sunny and warm summer day and I was so happy that both Matthew and I could be there! Here’s a few samples of the 400 photos we managed to take during the day.

Going to North Berwick Playa

I’ve been missing the sea lately, so although the weather wasn’t great we took the train to North Berwick yesterday. It’s a lovely little coastal town only a 30-minute train ride from Edinburgh. It was low-tide when we were there, so it was perfect for some rockpooling. All we found was a drowned crab, lots of smaller crab carcasses and a few living ones. Plus a couple of golf balls from the nearby course (that we took home with us).

Roadtrip

I was going through my photo folders on my laptop and came across some pics from last year’s birthday roadtrip to the Lake District in North West England. (I only now realise how far it is from London where I was living back then – I thought it was was in mid-England…) It was a sunny autumn day in great company and surrounded by beautiful nature – a perfect birthday!
