Summer In The Burgh

The best thing about where we’re living now is that it’s so close to Holyrood Park. It’s such a nice place to go for a run after work, a picnic or just for a walk across the hills. You can basically climb Arthur’s Seat (the highest peak) from any direction, and you don’t even have to go that high for a beautiful panoramic view of the city. The weather’s been quite nice for a while now, so we’ve spent a lot of time in Holyrood park. Last Friday was the hottest day so far, 27 degrees, so we decided to go for a picnic in the park and enjoy the view with a glass of wine.

Arthur's seatAfter work drinks.

The view from our hill. Guess which foot belongs to who.

Sad thing is that this is the best photo of me from last Friday. As you can tell by my face Matthew is clearly not doing a good job taking the picture.

Matthew is doing his Backstreet Boys pose. (He’s not as close to the edge as it looks like…)

My blurry shot of the sunset.

Matthew managed to get a bird into his shot.

It was Matthew’s 27th birthday a couple of weeks ago, so he invited a few friends over. There weren’t really any good photos from that night, but thought I’d still share a few just so you can see what Scottish people look like, and so you that can see what our flat looks like with people in it.

It was a really fun night that went on pretty late…3 hours of cleaning the following day was not that fun. But worth it!
