Sunny Spring Sunday

Posted on

Good evening everyone,

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. It’s been a sunny few days here – such an energy boost to the system! Not much going on up here, just the usual work – gym, work – gym, work – gym, weekend routine (we’re one of those annoying couples that go to the gym together). We’ve had a person leave at work and another one start, which means it’s been quite busy and that I’ve had to take on more responsibility. Which I don’t mind as I want to learn as much as I can.

I’ve been doing some more sewing; I’ve made a dress and will start making a jumpsuit soon once I find a fabric I like. I’ve been watching a TV show called the ‘British Sewing Bee’ where sewers compete against each other on different sewing challenges. I find it quite useful as they also explain how you actually sew different things. I really think anyone can learn to sew, you just need to familiarise yourself with the vocabulary and follow patterns and instructions carefully. And if you’re stuck, just google it – there are loads of great sewing blogs out there.

Also looking forward to a weekend in London in a couple of weeks when I’ll get to meet my friend’s little baby that was born only a few days ago! And my friends of course 🙂

As the weather forecast looked amazing for Sunday we decided to do another trip to the Pentland hills regional park just a 30 minute bus-ride  from our house. There are several routes to choose from, but we walked across the whole thing, from Flotterstone Inn to Balerno, which took us a good 4-5 hours. It didn’t seem like much of a trek at the time, but we were both knackered when we got home and still feeling it today. That’s what fresh air and sunshine does to you I guess.

It was a good time to get the camera out too, so here are a few of mine and Matthew’s snaps of sheep, hills, trees and more sheep.

It’s pretty isn’t it? My face is actually burning a little bit today and Matthew was quite pink too, although I was responsible and did wear sunscreen…I guess 4-5 hours of sun is quite a lot for a pale winter face!

Have a great week y’all!

PS. I’m getting a new haircut on Friday – fringe time! =)
