On Saturday I reached 30 weeks in my second pregnancy and it all feels a bit surreal to think that there will be four of us in just 10 weeks…Eeek! I haven’t even started thinking about what we need to prepare for the baby…Anyway, on Sunday we decided to do something outdoorsy as there was no rain in the forecast (for a change) – so we got on the bus, got some amazing cakes and other foods and headed to Holyrood Park for a picnic.
The best thing about where we’re living now is that it’s so close to Holyrood Park. It’s such a nice place to go for a run after work, a picnic or just for a walk across the hills. You can basically climb Arthur’s Seat (the highest peak) from any direction, and you don’t even have to go that high for a beautiful panoramic view of the city. The weather’s been quite nice for a while now, so we’ve spent a lot of time in Holyrood park. Last Friday was the hottest day so far, 27 degrees, so we decided to go for a picnic in the park and enjoy the view with a glass of wine.
As the weather in Edinburgh has been amazingly sunny I decided to go for a run to get to know my new area. I ended up in Holyrood Park that is basically on our doorstep and that largely consists of the 250 m high hill Arthur’s Seat. I really wanted to take some nice photos for my blog so I went back home to get my camera, and finally got around to climb the damn hill! It only took me around 10 minutes, so this can definitely be a part of my exercise routine.
