Edinburgh Festival Vibes

Don’t know if it’s the terrible weather or me being pregnant and not having had the energy to venture into town on my own with Lana, but the Edinburgh Festival hasn’t really felt like a festival as much as in previous years. We have been to the old town and soaked up the Festival atmosphere during the past two weekends though, so I thought I’d take you with us on our day out on Sunday!

Today I had to visit a place just off the epicentre of the Edinburgh Festival, the Royal Mile, and I couldn’t resist taking Lana to see the street performances and all the madness going on after – even though pushing a buggy in a crowd is not my idea of fun…It wasn’t too bad though and it was worth it as Lana was definitely entertained (and a wee bit confused)!

The annual Edinburgh Festival officially starts today, which means the population of Edinburgh doubles (or triples, not sure) and the streets are taken over by the most varied performers and an army of flyerers. It’s the biggest arts festival in the world with over 50 000 shows!! Just thinking about flicking through the programme makes me stressed so I’m just going to go with recommendations…

My First Visitor

After 4 months in Edinburgh I finally get my first visitor, perfectly timed for the last weekend of the festival and last weekend of summer. It was so nice to have one of my friends visiting so I could show her how lovely Edinburgh is! Weather was quite nice too, warm enough for bare legs 🙂

Edinburgh Festival Fringe

The world’s biggest international arts festival came and went. A month of madness in August when the city’s population triples and public transport becomes annoyingly slow. We spent the first two weeks of August in Finland, so we only took part during the two last weekends. Which was just enough for me.
