This is Why I Moved to Finland

Warm summer days on an island surrounded by friends and their kids – what more could you ask for?! Matthew even suggested we buy ourselves an island to build a house on, Lana was so busy she didn’t have time to eat and Maya loves it when stuff is happening around her – so it’s fair to say we all enjoyed our day in the Finnish archipelago!

Finally here!

Lana and I survived the flight (already dreading flying alone with two small kids!) and arrived in Helsinki safely at 23.25 on Wednesday evening. My mum and dad picked us up and 45 minutes later we were in Porvoo and Lana started exploring the house and the toys – so we didn’t go to bed until 2am, which I think we’re both still feeling the consequences of!

Fifth Week In Finland

Summer is finally here! It’s been warm and sunny most of the week and this week looks even better 🙂 We’ve been to the beach a couple of times (where we had a little photo shoot with my pregnant friend above), visited an organic farm, picked some more berries, had a child-free cheese and wine picnic with the girls, spent time with Lana’s cousins and just enjoyed the nice weather. Oh, and we also got a visit from a furry friend with wings…:/

Mmm, Strawberries!

On my to do-list for this summer in Finland is to eat and pick as many berries as possible – including the queen of berries: strawberries. So to stick to my list we went to a farm near Porvoo (Uljaan tila) where you can pick your own strawberries and then pay by weight.

Third Week In Finland

Guess I’m stuck doing these weekly posts now since I started 🙂 (See what we got up to during Week 1 and Week 2.) Week 3 has gone by just as quickly as the first two weeks, probably because we’ve kept ourselves pretty busy again 🙂
