Ever since I moved to the UK (almost 6,5 years ago!) I have become increasingly obsessed with Nordic brands and I love the thought of being a bit of an ambassador for the brands I love and new brands I discover here on the blog. The simple and elegant lines of Nordic design really tickle my fancy and it just makes me feel less homesick being surrounded by it. Going to Ikea is another way of battling homesickness – but it’s getting increasingly difficult to get Matthew to join me hmpf.
If you’ve read my blog before you might know what a sucker I am for Nordic design and how happy I am to see all these Scandi shops popping up in Edinburgh. It’s a bit like hearing your language spoken on the street in a foreign country – it just gives you that feeling of belonging that we all crave to some extent.
Yet another visit to Finland is now over, sadly. This was the first visit with Lana, who was a little angel on all four flights with no signs of ear pain during take off and landing, pfeew! Lana got to meet so many new people and see so many new places that she’s all exhausted now and has done nothing but slept all day yesterday – I didn’t know what to do with myself with all the free time haha.
We’re back from a relaxing two-week holiday in Finland, and we didn’t come back empty-handed as you can see from the picture above! (Thank you family and friends!!) I also came back with a brand new camera that I’m learning to use, so the pictures in the blog will be of better quality from now on, yay. All in all we had a great stay, with a white Christmas and New Year’s, a couple of big get together’s with my friends, quality time with my family and my adorable little nephew of course!
