I’ve been meaning to do a blog post about this lovely shop at the bottom of Broughton Street for ages – but it actually makes more sense to do it now, in the midst of my ‘decorating our new home’-frenzy! Life Story is a lifestyle shop that sells lots of cool stuff you NEED for your home by several Scandinavian and Scandi-inspired designers. There is no end to the Scandi-boom!
Last week I visited the Royal Highland Show for the first time, which was such a great day out for the whole family. I’ll be blogging more about that later as I have around a million photos to share from the day! Anyway, at the show I was invited to meet with a representative for Norwegian Ekornes to learn more about what comfort really is about – and as I’m always keen to endorse the Nordics I just couldn’t say no.
The other week we were viewing a flat in Leith (yes, we’re thinking about buying again…) and since we were in the area I wanted to visit a cafe/vintage shop/art gallery on Lyne Street in Abbeyhill that I was clued in on through Instagram. As soon as we stepped inside I took a liking to the place and decided I want to do a blog post to support the shop. Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera, so photos aren’t great I’m afraid…
I was experimenting with making my own online collages using Polyvore and thought I’d share my very basic creation here as well. It’s actually quite fun, and free to use if you want to try it out! This is a collage of things I’m dreaming of buying (should maybe get a job first though!).
During Lana’s and mine Finland visit we spent a day in Helsinki with a good friend, eating well and checking out the Design Museum. Having lived in Helsinki for most of my twenties the city will always have a special place in my heart and I’m hoping I’ll get to live there again one day – or at least so close that I can visit often!
A must visit for everyone who’re thinking about buying or building a house, who’re interested in interior design or curious about the housing trends is the Asuntomessut Housing Fair 2015. The fair is organised every year in different locations, and the houses and flats built there are actually for sale and the whole area will become a new neighbourhood.
I really want to make sure there are some Finnish vibes in our home, which is the reason I came back with two bags instead of one when I was last visiting…I went through the cupboards in my old flat where my brother and his fiancee are now living, and found some long lost Finnish design friends that I just had to take back with me. Keep reading to see what the new additions in our home are!
