A New Beginning

We finally had internet installed yesterday (it was a tough 5 days I have to admit), which means I can tell you a bit about the move to our new home! Our moving day was Saturday, and with the help of a man with a van and Matthew’s brother (thanks again Daniel!) we managed to move all our stuff to the new place in just over 2 hours. Not bad!

Settling In To Our New Home

Hi all!

The past few weeks have been all about settling into our new flat (sneak peek above), which could’ve been easier hadn’t Matthew injured his foot halfway through…Luckily his mum and dad have been a huge help! This move has been different as the flat was unfurnished, so we’ve basically had to get pretty much everything you need in a flat, from a vacuum cleaner and a freezer to a bed and a sofa.

Hiya!

Looks like things have taken a new turn and we’ve found a flat – an unfurnished place in the same area where the burst shit pipe flat is (Stockbridge). It was actually Matthew’s sister who works for an estate agent that found this gem for us, so thanks! It’s a newly painted, spacious flat that is like a blank canvas that we can put our own stamp on – and the location can’t get much better either! No more sleeping in other people’s beds or sitting in other people’s sofas – really looking forward to finally decorating my (I mean our) apartment! . 🙂

Hola!

It’s been a year since we moved to Edinburgh, and funnily enough we’re finding ourselves right where we started: staying with Matthew’s parents (thanks for having us again!). We were supposed to move in to our new flat in the Colonies in Stockbridge today, but due to an unexpected call from the letting agency that won’t be the case…

Walkabout

Greetings from a very rainy Edinburgh!

I think the best way to get to know a new city is just to go for a walk and get lost. During the past few days I’ve been walking a lot, basically around the whole city (twice). My boyfriend has shown me all the major areas so that I can get an opinion of my own about where to move. I still haven’t seen any ugly parts of Edinburgh so there are many areas I can see myself living in. Anyway, just wanted to share some photos I’ve been taking on my walks so that you can see how pretty it is here!

As I have mentioned earlier, we are currently staying with my boyfriend’s parents. They live in an area called Stockbridge, which is also an option for us. It’s a very nice, green area with lots of little charity shops and cafes, and also walking distance from the immediate city centre. Me like!
