When it Snows in the UK…

…schools close down. People leave work early or don’t go in at all. Your husband calls to warn you not to go outside (remember I’m Finnish Matthew?!). Shortly after he comes home from work. Everybody stays inside and drinks tea to keep warm. Your local shop is out of milk and bread. Trains stop running and buses get suspended. They call the storm “The Beast from the East”. The Met Office issues red “risk to life” snow warning. Etc. Etc. You get the drill!

I was just happy to for the first time ever be able to go out and play in the snow here in Edinburgh. Luckily I have Lana so I don’t look like a complete weirdo. But it’s been interesting to finally experience the chaos that ensues when it snows a bit more!

This weather makes me feel like I’m at home. Never thought I would miss snow as much as I have during the almost 7 years I’ve lived in the UK! More of this please.

PS. In my home town it was -20 degrees Celcius this morning…Everybody went to work and school. Just saying.
